MISSION
HEART First™, the App, a for-profit entity, is seamlessly tied to its own 501c3 non-profit organization called HEART-1st.
This is important because a portion of the sales price of each copy sold of HEART First will go to fund HEART-1st, its operations and fulfilling its mission. Tying the two entities together means no time has to be spent by management fundraising to keep HEART-1st in business.
The HEART-1st Mission
To accelerate mainstream medical adoption of mind-soul treatment - starting at point of cancer diagnosis - as part of a Total Cancer Patient Treatment Care Plan.
Why HEART-1st’s Mission is so Important:
Clinical research concludes that the benefit of treating a cancer patient’s mind and soul - measured by decrease in stress, pain, powerlessness and reliance on painkillers and prescription drugs - warrants mind and soul treatment become standard medical protocol from point of diagnosis forward. Despite research proving mind and soul treatment benefit, implementation into mainstream medical practice is virtually non-existent at point of diagnosis - meaning patients are suffering more then they need to.
Without HEART First as my coping and relief toolkit - I would’ve been one of those patients suffering more than necessary.

Art Therapy is a Magic Wand for Pain and Stress Relief
The therapeutic arts are recognized as an integral component of mind and soul care because:
(1) They trigger unseen neurological and psychological processes that bring real-time pain and stress relief
(2) They're simple, direct, non-invasive and have no negative side effects
However, In Health Distress Accessing Art Therapy is Problematic:
Art therapies tend to only exist independent of each other
When available aren't inclusive of all types of artistic relief therapies
Unavailable on demand; any time of day or night (pain can't tell time)
They're remote inside of or geographically from the treatment center: often require time, travel and expense to access
Post-hospitalization difficult, sometime impossible to access due to distance
